Rome season 1


Every city has its secrets. HBO presents Season 1 of this epic series about generals and soldiers, masters and slaves, husbands and wives — all entwined in the furious historical events that saw the death of a republic and the birth of an empire. The season begins in 52 B.C. as Gaius Julius Caesar completes his quest of Gaul after eight years of war and prepares to return with his army to Rome. But while Caesar’s self-interested niece Atia and long-lost paramour Servilia anxiously await his return, the ruling patricians despair that Caesar’s homecoming will disrupt the status quo. As Caesar’s legions move closer to Rome, allegiances are put to the test for both soldiers and civilians — and the escalating tensions climax with a full-scale conflict destined to change history. The ensemble cast includes Kevin McKidd, Ray Stevenson, Polly Walker, Kenneth Cranham, Tobias Menzies, James Purefoy, and Ciarán Hinds.

The Borgias


The series is based on the Borgia family (Borja in Valencian), an Italian dynasty of Spanish origin, and stars Jeremy Irons as Pope Alexander VI and David Oakes, François Arnaud, Holliday Grainger and Aidan Alexander as Juan, Cesare, Lucrezia and Gioffre Borgia, respectively. Derek Jacobi also stars as Cardinal Orsini.

Camelot

The Tudors season 1

Band of Brothers


This is the story of “E” Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division from their initial training starting in 1942 to the end of World War II. They parachuted behind enemy lines in the early hours of D-Day in support of the landings at Utah beach, participated in the liberation of Carentan and again parachuted into action during Operation Market Garden. They also liberated a concentration camp and were the first to enter Hitler’s mountain retreat in Berchtesgarten. A fascinating tale of comradeship that is, in the end, a tale of ordinary men who did extraordinary things.

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena



The mini-series features the bloody history of the House of Batiatus and the city of Capua before the arrival of Spartacus. Quintus Lentulus Batiatus becomes a lanista (manager) when he takes over his father's ludus of gladiators. He has ambitions of stepping out of his father's shadow by seeking recognition for own name and achieving greatness for his house. By his side stands his beautiful wife Lucretia who will help her husband achieve his goal no matter what the cost. Batiatus puts all his fortunes on the man who will gain him fame and glory, his best gladiator, the Celt, Gannicus; a skilled warrior who wields his swords in the arena as if it were his last day alive. However, there are those who oppose Batiatus and his future champion(s) of Capua, plotting against him only to succeed in failure.

The Pacific


The Pacific is an epic 10-part miniseries that delivers a realistic portrait of WWII's Pacific Theatre as seen through the intertwined odysseys of three U.S. Marines - Robert Leckie, John Basilone and Eugene Sledge. The extraordinary experiences of these men and their fellow Marines take them from the first clash with the Japanese in the haunted jungles of Guadalcanal, through the impenetrable rain firests of Cape Gloucester, across the blasted coral strongholds of Peleliu, up the black sand terraces of Iwo Jima, through the killing fields of Okinawa, to the triumphant, yet uneasy, return home after V-J Day. The viewer will be immersed in combat through the intimate perspective of this diverse, relatable group of men pushed to the limit in battle both physically and psychologically against a relentless enemy unlike any encountered before.
